Workforce Equity Demonstration Project

Workforce Equity Demonstration (WED) projects are high-road workforce development partnerships between our 1000 Strong coalition and local governments. In Los Angeles, our coalition of labor, social service, and community partners are working together with the City of Los Angeles to design a program that provides underserved and low-income communities direct access to public sector employment. Through intentional recruitment, hiring, training, and mentorship, we are creating an equitable workforce model that ensures quality careers for Black workers—and a local workforce that is diverse, highly trained, and fairly compensated.
