Our programs promote access to quality jobs, racial equity in hiring and retention, and workplaces free from discrimination.

Ready 2 Work

Our Ready 2 Work program is a series of workshops where Black workers share political education and build the skills needed to succeed in the workplace. The program provides a welcoming environment to receive industry-specific coaching and mentorship. Participants learn best practices for the job application and interview process, as well as how to navigate challenges that may arise at work.

Workforce Equity Demonstration

Workforce Equity Demonstration projects are high road workforce development partnerships between our 1000 Strong coalition and local governments. We create pathways to place Black workers into career-track, public sector jobs that contribute to the equitable economic growth of our communities.

Legal Clinic

Our Legal Clinic provides Black workers free access to legal aid. Law students partner with us to assist workers who are dealing with workplace challenges such as employment discrimination, wage theft, and health and safety violations.

My Siblings Keeper

My Siblings Keeper is a peer-to-peer program for Black workers to support each other. Black workers work together to identify, create, and process workplace claims, including those for CHRD/DFEH, EEO, WHD, and OSHA.

The LABWC is where Black workers come together to support each other.

Our individual struggles are deeply intertwined with our collective liberation. That’s why the LABWC is a member-led organization. Black workers from across Los Angeles join each other to fight for better living and working conditions. Our growing community of members has access to a robust network of support, leadership opportunities, and more.
