Co-Executive Director (Organizing & Programs)
Co-Executive Director (Organizing & Programs):
The LA Black Worker Center is hiring a Co-Executive Director (Organizing & Programs). This leader will help shape LABWC’s vision, lead organizing and policy strategy, build a culture rooted in care, and strengthen long-term sustainability. Below is a brief summary of what they’ll do:
Co-develop and advance a bold vision that grows LABWC’s base, deepens Black worker power, and delivers tangible gains for Black workers across LA.
Manage and develop a team while building a culture rooted in care.
Lead and bridge organizing, programs, and policy strategy across the organization.
Co-develop and lead a relational fundraising strategy to grow and sustain long-term revenue.
Compensation and Benefits:
Full-time, $130,000 – $150,000 annually, LABWC provides a comprehensive benefits package including 100% medical, vision, and dental coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan annually, with an increased accrual rate based on the number of years of employment, 10 sick days, and additional paid holiday time off.
Application Process:
Round 1: Application submission and a one-way video interview (take your interview) due by Tuesday, July 17, 2026. The Priority Deadline is Friday, July 10. This stage includes four interview questions, which candidates complete on their own time.
Round 2: A live, 60-minute interview via Zoom with the hiring committee.
Round 3: Final interviews with the two finalists, scheduled for August 11 & 14, at the LABWC office in Los Angeles.
Organizing Director
Organizing Director:
The Organizing Director will oversee robust Organizing and Campaigns Departments, develop and execute winning campaigns, and steward leadership development pipelines that strengthen both LABWC and the broader movement ecosystem.This position reports to the Co-Executive Director of Organizing & Programs and works in close partnership with senior leadership.
Provide strategic leadership for LABWC’s organizing vision, including long-term power-building strategies that integrate community organizing, workplace organizing, and policy-adjacent campaigns. The Organizing Director will represent LABWC at external meetings, coalitions, and public forums, and serve as a strategic spokesperson for organizing campaigns when appropriate.
Cultivate a strong leadership development culture within the department, including supporting staff to mentor emerging organizers and develop protégés who contribute to the broader movement beyond LABWC.
Compensation and Benefits:
Full-time, exempt position; salary commensurate with experience and scope of responsibility up to $95,000 a year. Plus, a generous benefit package of health and dental insurance, retirement plan, sick, vacation, and floating holidays.
