Our Ready 2 Work program is a series of workshops that provide job skills training and industry-specific mentorship to Black workers. Our goal is to support our communities to succeed professionally and have access to meaningful careers with fair wages and benefits. Before starting, participants attend an orientation to learn about program expectations as well as the LABWC’s vision and goals. Over a three-month period, participants learn how to develop an effective resume and prepare for impactful interviews. Our workshops also offer guidance on how to navigate challenges that may occur in the workplace, meet employer expectations, and balance work/life priorities. Upon completing the program, graduates are eligible to access our Ready 2 Work database for job referrals and job placement support. To ensure long-term success and job retention, we provide ongoing mentorship and support.
